Only an hour and a half’s drive north of Perth, Lancelin is an adventure sports lover’s heaven.

Many of the local shops offer sand board hire by the hour. One word of advice though – make sure you start early as the dunes usually get scorching hot by lunchtime!

It’s not just sand-boarding either. You won’t be disappointed with more sand dune activities such as four-wheel driving and quad biking.

If you’re feeling peckish after sand-boarding, the Endeavour Tavern serves a great surf ‘n’ turf lunch.

If you have more than a few days up your sleeve, then visiting the Pinnacles is a must. Located near the town of Cervantes, you will need to allow more time for this drive especially if you’re combining it with a trip to Lancelin.

By road it takes just over 2 hours to reach Cervantes so you might like to book a place overnight to make the most of the area and ‘Australia’s Coral Coast’ is a great place to begin looking.
